Description
Using embroidery to replicate the traditional appliqué craft form, this open stitched technique gives our petal cushion cover a lighter feel. Appliqué work, in combination with other forms of stitches and embellishments, would have traditionally been used in several parts of India to decorate marriage costumes, wall hangings and quilts.
It takes several days to complete each piece. While the design and technique are the same, each artisan has her own way of applying each stitch, making each piece unique in its own special way.
